Project Manager

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the total successful outcome of project delivery as they are a liaison between project owner, architect, superintendent, subcontractors, and suppliers. As a Project Manager, you understand the levers on your project and how to appropriately adjust them to ensure a smooth and safe completion of the project that exceeds the client’s expectations. You will ensure we are on target with project metrics by driving items forward, providing leadership and oversight for all phases of the project from preconstruction to closeout. Working closely with all team members, it will be your responsibility to foster positive working relationships and be an effective communicator.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years Construction Project Manager experience, with experience in both high-end residential and commercial tenant improvements a plus. Working for a general contractor within the construction industry, you have project managed 5+ projects from start to finish.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent combination of education + experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in estimating, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, change management, subcontractor management and financial reporting.
  • Self-driven with a successful history of managing multiple projects simultaneously, on time and on budget.
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting detailed construction drawings and specifications.
  • Solid working knowledge of commercial construction means and methods.
  • Proven leadership skills with an ability to proactively identify and creatively resolve complex issues.
  • Detailed and logical yet able to go with the flow & adapt to change.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications; Outlook, Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam or other windows-based construction management software a plus.
  • Clean driving record.

    Superintendent

    Job Summary

    Mallet Superintendents are responsible for the direct daily supervision of construction activities on our projects. As a key representative of Mallet, you will use your knowledge, experience and confidence to professionally interact and collaborate with the project manager, design team, subcontractors, site personnel, inspectors and clients, always conscious of maintaining strong working relationships. Remaining a positive, proactive, solution-oriented leader who is committed to quality craft, you will ensure that the design intent and project goals are met. As Superintendent, you will be the site-based manager responsible for the implementation of schedule, the management of safety, the coordination of subcontractors and overall delivery of high-quality work.


    Qualifications
    • 5+ years Superintendent experience, including either commercial experience (focus on tenant improvement), or high-end residential. Can demonstrate a history of successful project delivery.
    • Able to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications with ease.
    • Solid understanding of construction means and methods (both commercial and residential).
    • Extensive hands-on construction experience and the ability to appropriately sequence and direct self-performed and subcontracted trade work.
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality, complex projects safely, on time, and on budget.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, teambuilding and mentorship skills.
    • Proficiency with MS Office applications; Outlook, Excel, Word and MS Project.
    • Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam or other Windows based construction management software a plus.
    • OSHA 30 Certification.
    • 1st Aid/CPR Certification.
    • Clean driving record.

    Job Summary

    The Lead Carpenter is an integral role to our project’s pathway to success. This role will work together with the Superintendent and Apprentice Carpenters to ensure site safety is met and the self-performed carpentry scopes are executed efficiently and with the level of quality that is in line with Mallet’s reputation. The ability to collaborate with the team, think outside of the box, and problem solve are key to this role.

    Mallet is a general contractor that specializes in both boutique commercial and high-end residential work; therefore, this role may be involved with tasks such as foundation forming all the way to installing custom millwork and finish hardware.


    Qualifications
    • 5+ years’ high-end residential carpentry
    • Journeyman level carpentry skills; foundation through finishes capable.
    • Positive attitude a must.
    • Read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
    • Able to work successfully in a team or individually.
    • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Give clear direction, follow instructions, ask for clarification when needed.
    • Possess full toolkit to perform a wide variety of carpentry tasks.
    • Valid driver license, reliable vehicle & clean driving record.
    • Pass a background check.
    • Preferred: 1st Aid/CPR, OSHA 30, Bloodborne Pathogen Training.

    Job Summary

    The Carpenter is one of our most valuable team players as this role is doing the work and is responsible for bringing the vision to reality. This role will work together with the Superintendent and Lead Carpenter to execute the self-performed elements of our projects efficiently and with the level of quality that is in line with Mallet’s reputation. The ability to collaborate with the team, receive and understand direction/the task at hand, and raise your hand when there are questions and/or conflicts are necessary functions of this role.

    Mallet is a general contractor that specializes in both boutique commercial and high-end residential work; therefore, this role may be involved with tasks such as foundation forming all the way to installing custom millwork and finish hardware.


    Qualifications
    • 2+ years of carpentry experience.
    • Adaptable carpentry skills; willing to perform foundation through finishes.
    • Positive, team focused attitude.
    • Basic understanding of Architectural drawings and scales.
    • Able to work successfully in a team or individually.
    • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
    • Follow instructions, ask for clarification when needed.
    • Possess entry level tool kit to perform a wide variety of carpentry tasks.
    • Valid driver license, reliable vehicle & clean driving record.
    • Pass a background check.
    • Preferred: 1st Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, Bloodborne Pathogen Training.
